Believe that many people may have visited Ayutthaya province, whether traveling with family, educational purposes with school, or as a transit to other provinces. One of the standout provinces, rich in history, ancient sites, and registered as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is Ayutthaya. However, many may not have experienced or witnessed the atmosphere of these places at night. Today,We introduce a grand festival that will introduce a new perspective and fresh feelings about the significant historical sites here with the event called “Yoryos ํYingfa Ayutthaya World Heritage.”
The old city of Ayutthaya has been registered as an important historical site by the Department of Fine Arts since 1935. Subsequently, there have been restoration efforts on various key parts in 1956. The Historic City of Ayutthaya project was established in 1982, and it was later declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site under the name “Historic City of Ayutthaya” on December 13, 1991.
This event aims to promote tourism and add value to the tourism economy through Soft Power culture. The festival will feature light and sound shows, lanterns, various performances, and shops from Ayutthaya residents. It encourages attendees to experience the novelty of the historical park at night, wear traditional Thai costumes, and take photos amidst the captivating ambiance.
The “Yoryos Yingfa Ayutthaya World Heritage” event will take place from December 15 to 24, 2023, starting at 6:00 PM, at the central stage in front of Wat Bung Phra Ram. Following that, there will be an opening ceremony for the light and sound show at the rear of Wat Maha That, titled “Ayutthaya, the Prestige of the Sky, Heroism, Artistry, Cultural Splendor, Wisdom, and Prosperity of Ayutthaya.” Numerous special activities include charity events with the chance to win big from the local shops, midnight temple visits, ancient cannon demonstrations, and on the last day, a lucky draw with a chance to win prizes from the local shops at 9:00 PM.
